Millard North Senior

“I wish you could have seen Lily’s ear-to-ear smile after opening the beautiful packaging and while looking through her book she really liked it a lot! Thank you also for the bonus prints we loved that surprise!

We have had such an incredible experience - thank you so much - you made us feel like your only clients with all the attention and detail!”

Nothing makes my day more than hearing how happy clients are during their experience with me. So when I received this text from a senior’s mom after I had delivered their final artwork to them, it truly did make my entire day - and that whole week, too ☺️

Getting to be a part of such a pivotal year for Lily was an incredible honor. And she was incredible!! You would never know she had sustained a should injury in a softball game just days prior to our session.

After sending Lily her senior questionnaire to get some info on what she was hoping for her senior portraits, I got to work designing a session that included both a field with flowers to pair with a dress, as well as urban locations that fit Lily’s aesthetic. We started in downtown Omaha and checked off several locations with modern white and black facades, some fun glass blocks, and areas where the light was just too pretty to not stop and take some pictures.

After walking a few blocks in killer high heels to get some gorgeous images with her Kelly green outfit, we headed to a rooftop after a quick outfit change, including more comfortable sandals.

I could spend hours walking downtown - there are so many gems around the city that make for amazing portrait backgrounds, but we had one more location to get to, and we headed to a nature preserve to end our time together as the sun set. I loved the wildflowers growing along the roadside, and the sun setting behind the tree line was a perfect ending to our time together on her session day.

But it didn’t stop there. Once the portrait session is finished, I get to work sorting through the hundreds of images I take and prepare them with basic edits to present to each client. Clients can choose to meet with me in person to go over them in a slideshow set to music, where we narrow down their collection together and take care of the artwork order at that time. Or, they can also review their proofs on their own time in an online gallery where they can place their artwork order. Lily ultimately choose a gorgeous heirloom 10x10 album - a popular choice for seniors! With a rose gold metallic material combined with an acrylic cover print, her album was STUNNING! It’s going to be so fun to look through for years to come, and is sure to catch eyes at her senior grad party. Lily also chose a matted, fine art print to frame, as well as a few fine art desk prints.

As a senior photographer, there are so many parts of the process that bring me so much joy. Getting to know these young adults and the amazing person that they are, designing a session that’s just for them, getting creative with my camera in hand, and seeing their portraits in beautiful artwork…I don’t know if I could pick a favorite part - it’s all incredible to be a part of!

Lily, I hope you have an amazing senior year. Thank you for letting me be a small part of it as your senior photographer!
